In late 2014, shortly prior to their acquisition by Nokia, Alcatel-Lucent made the decision to sell their enterprise business to the investment organisation China Huaxin. Due to Alcatel-Lucent’s traditional telecommunications focus, its enterprise portfolio had historically been somewhat overshadowed by its other solutions, and the sale to China Huaxin provided a new lease of life for these products.
Following their existing and significant success with the business before this point, Emerald Technology were selected as the sole vendor of choice to facilitate the overall digital transformation strategy. Tasked with implementing innovative new strategies across emerging technology sectors, alongside more traditional business units, the priority was to incorporate fresh ideas and talent and increased diversity into the existing Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise culture.
